Vivo V20 Pro Review: Design and display

The design of the Vivo V20 Pro is very similar to the Vivo V20. While the Vivo V20 Pro has a bathtub notch display, the Vivo V20 features a water droplet notch. The phone has a full 6.44-inch HD Plus AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and support for HDR10 as well. The brightness of the display gives excellent performance indoors and outdoors, the color is clear, but the large notch makes it a bit annoying when streaming videos and games.

The power and volume buttons are provided on the right side of the phone. The SIM card slot, Type-C port, and single speaker grille are provided below. This phone does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack, while the Vivo V20 has a headphone jack. The power button has a fingerprint sensor, which means that Vivo says the Vivo V20 Pro is the thinnest 5G phone in its segment. This phone is 7.39 mm thin and weighs 170 grams.

Vivo V20 Pro Review: Hardware and Software

The Vivo V20 Pro features Android 11-based Funtouch OS 11. The phone features Qualcomm's Snapdragon 765G processor, which is Octa's core 5G processor. This phone will get 128 GB storage with 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM. The Snapdragon 765G processor has become a staple for today’s midrange 5G smartphones. There are no problems with multitasking, tab shifting, opening multiple tabs, etc., but Vivo has missed the display refresh rate in this range. The Vivo V20 Pro has a 90Hz refresh rate display.

No problem with other presentations. The phone also has features such as dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, and FM radio. The speakers have a good volume level but are low for external. Good sound quality. This phone is great for gaming. This phone can handle heavy games easily. Heavy games like Call of Duty (COD) run smoothly, but the phone gets a little hot when played for a long time.

Speaking of cameras, the Vivo V20 Pro has a three rear camera setup where the main lens is a 64-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GW1 sensor with an aperture of f / 1.89 An ultra-wide second lens with an aperture of 8 megapixels f / 2.2 and a third lens is a 2-megapixel monochrome lens with an aperture of f / 2.4. This phone has a double selfie lens with a 44-megapixel main lens and an 8-megapixel second lens. In terms of the camera, the performance of the Vivo V20 is very good. The video stabilization of the camera is impressive. Filming from a moving car will not cause a shock in the video.

The camera also offers autofocus which is nothing less than a gift for the video maker. Autofocus is also provided in the Vivo V20. The insufficient light performance of the Vivo V20 Pro is very good and also good at low light.

You can record video from the front camera at 4K 60fps which is the best thing for any user. Ultra-wide angles are also available with the front camera and with this lens, you can also record video at 1080 pixels, although the video quality of the front camera will be said to be fine.

Photos clicked with the rear camera come with details. Proximity pictures are also equipped with details. Knight and Portrait mode performance is also good. Multiple views are also available with the camera. Apart from this, there is also a dual-mode, that is, you can record video simultaneously from the front and rear cameras.
